WikiDesk:Community Guidelines
Last updated: 2 September 2026
Wikidesk is intended to be a useful and respectful place for people to discover, review, and improve information.
These Community Guidelines describe the basic standards expected from anyone who contributes to, communicates through, or otherwise participates in Wikidesk features.
1. Be Respectful
Treat other people with basic respect.
Do not use Wikidesk to harass, threaten, intimidate, target, or deliberately humiliate another person.
Disagreements about facts or opinions are normal. Personal attacks are not necessary to make a useful contribution.
2. Contribute Useful Information
Contributions should have a genuine informational purpose.
Avoid submitting material that is:
- Irrelevant
- Intentionally misleading
- Repetitive
- Unnecessarily promotional
- Designed primarily to manipulate search results
- Submitted only to create links
- Intended to disrupt an article or discussion
3. Accuracy Matters
Before submitting factual information, contributors should take reasonable steps to ensure that it is correct.
When possible, provide a reliable source or explain where the information comes from.
If you discover that something you submitted was incorrect, please report or correct it where the relevant feature allows.
4. Do Not Impersonate Others
Do not pretend to be another person, organization, official representative, or authority.
Do not create misleading accounts or submissions intended to make readers believe that information comes from a source that it does not actually come from.
5. Protect Personal Information
Do not publish another person's private or sensitive personal information without a legitimate reason and appropriate authorization.
This includes information such as private contact details, personal identifiers, passwords, financial information, or other information that could reasonably create a privacy or safety risk.
6. Respect Copyright
Only submit material that you have permission to use or that can lawfully be used for the intended purpose.
Do not copy substantial portions of another website, publication, book, photograph, or other protected work without appropriate rights.
When attribution is required, provide it appropriately.
7. Avoid Manipulation
Wikidesk should not be used to manipulate readers through fabricated facts, fake citations, coordinated misinformation, or deceptive submissions.
Contributors should not create multiple identities or use automated activity to artificially influence discussions, rankings, or other website functions.
8. Disclose Relevant Relationships
If you are contributing information about yourself, an organization you represent, or another subject with which you have a close professional or personal relationship, provide information accurately and avoid presenting personal interests as independent evidence.
This helps maintain the reliability of the information being submitted.
9. No Abuse of Website Features
Do not attempt to:
- Circumvent security controls
- Overload or disrupt the website
- Introduce malicious software
- Probe systems without authorization
- Harvest personal information
- Send spam
- Exploit technical vulnerabilities for harmful purposes
- Interfere with another user's access
Security vulnerabilities should be reported responsibly through an appropriate Wikidesk contact channel.
10. Handling Problems
When content or behaviour appears to violate these guidelines, Wikidesk may review the matter and take appropriate action.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Asking for clarification
- Correcting or removing content
- Restricting editing or submission privileges
- Suspending access to particular features
- Taking other reasonable measures to protect the website and its users
The response will depend on the seriousness and circumstances of the issue.
11. Good-Faith Participation
Not every mistake is a violation.
Wikidesk encourages people to raise concerns, ask questions, suggest corrections, and disagree constructively.
The goal of these guidelines is to protect the quality and usefulness of the platform, not to discourage legitimate participation.
12. Updates to These Guidelines
These guidelines may be updated as Wikidesk's community and features develop.
The current version will always be available on this page.
